          TransAlt is the official app of #BikeNYC, created by the non-profit organization Transportation Alternatives to provide you with news about local protests and group bike rides, connect you to local activism for new bike lanes and safer streets, and deliver your daily bicycling forecast, written by New York City’s own Bike Snob, with the weather, road conditions, and more. 

Transportation Alternatives is New York City’s advocate for biking, walking, and public transportation, and our mission is to reclaim New York City’s street from the automobile. For over forty years, we have been making streets safer for biking and walking, and fighting for public transportation that is reliable and efficient. We are backed by 150,000 supporters and 8,000 dues-paying members.
